Taoyuan holds one of Taiwan’s largest urban Indigenous populations. Over a year of filming, we joined the director in exploring the lives of seven urban Indigenous individuals, asking a simple but powerful question: When “homeland” is no longer the mountains, what does it become?
We followed stories woven into factories and betel nut stands: Rukai archer Ko Fu-An gathers his community through carved bows; Ipay teaches Kavalan across schools; Lupish teaches English by day and helps her kids learn Thao by night; Maliko and Lai Hsin-Tong build Amis culture through fashion and embroidery.
When O’ol and other mothers sew and share stories in a community center; when Iyang watches dusk fall, remembering her mother’s dance; when ‘away and her adult students laugh over beginner’s Taivoan—these are the moments of Together, We.
We are honored to have walked alongside these lives—together, we.
